The presence of soybean, but not soybean cropping frequency has influence on SOM priming in crop rotation systems

چکیده
Legume crops are advocated for integration into crop rotation systems, and cereal-based rotations with the presence of legumes have a substantial effect on improving soil fertility health. It is not yet clear whether frequency legume inclusion in systems influences biochemical properties organic matter (SOM) mineralization. An incubation experiment was conducted 13C-glucose addition to evaluate soybean (Glycine max L.) cropping SOM mineralization under long-term wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)- maize (Zea mays L.)-based systems. Phospholipid fatty acids (PLFAs) 13C-PLFAs were measured explore microbial biomass, community structure utilization glucose Glucose increased native mineralization, i.e. positive priming effect. Compared less wheat- maize-based wheat-soybean-soybean-soybean maize-soybean-soybean total biomass (PLFAs), fungal decreased ratio bacteria fungi. Furthermore, fungi negatively correlated PE intensity, indicating that greater played key role stimulating priming. That proportion G- had relationship intensity also supported this conclusion. The priming, while no significant influence However, contrast system, same wheat-based system lower C/N higher B/F ratio, resulted intensity. Our findings indicated because induced more than addition.

In most developing countries, agriculture is the driving force for broad-based economic growth and low agricultural productivity is a major cause of poverty, food insecurity, and malnutrition. However, food production per unit of land is limited by many factors, includ‐ ing fertilizer, water, genetic potential of the crop and the organisms that feed on or compete with food plants. Despite the p...

Producers are frequently most interested in economic comparisons of various cropping systems. We compared continuous corn (Zea mays L.) and continuous soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] with 2-, 3-, and 5-year rotations, the latter two including wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.), using either chisel plow or no-tillage practices. Crop yield and returns to land and manag...

Conventional soybean weed management and transgenic herbicide-tolerant management were examined to assess their effects on soybean insect pest populations in south Georgia in 1997 and 1998. Soybean variety had very little impact on the insect species observed, except that maturity group effects were observed for stink bug, primarily Nezara viridula (L.), population densities on some sampling da...

The effect of previous crops--soybean (Glycine max) or corn (Zea mays)--and aldicarb (2.2 kg a.i./ha) on yield and nematode numbers at harvest for soybean cultivars with various combinations of nematode resistance was determined in a sandy loam soil infested with Meloidogyne arenaria race 2 and Heterodera glycines races 3 and 4 at Elberta, Alabama, in 1987. Cultivars had an effect on yield and ...

A microplot experiment was conducted in soybean–wheat cropping system at New Delhi during 2010-11 and 2011-12 to study the effect of continuous or cyclic tillage, viz., conventional tillage (CT) and zero-tillage (ZT) and residue management of either soybean (SR) and/or wheat (WR) on yield performance and soil physico-chemical properties. The experiment was laid out in randomized block desi...
